PAST EVENTS
Grace Church Wakefield runs a number of events throughout the year. We do this to serve the community in different ways and to help us to get to know the people in it better! See examples of some of the events we've run over the past few years to get an idea of what might be in store for the future!

'The greatest kingdom'
Another installment of our holiday club! In 2024, kids joined us in February half-term to learn about 'The Greatest Kingdom'.

With knights, barons, villagers and jesters all teamed up and ready for fun, we had a great time learning about God's kingdom.
christmas 2023
Our annual Christmas Carol Service moved inside again for 2023 where we had a packed hall full of tuneful visitors from the local community and beyond.

After traditional carols there were festive treats and lots of different Christmas crafts for all the family to enjoy.
Summer fun day
The sun made an appearance again for our annual Summer Fun Day.
​
Families had fun joining in with games, competitions, bouncing on the bouncy castle and more.
​
Our face painters came with brushes at the ready again and burgers and hot dogs made an appearance too!
'Mighty makers'
In February half-term (2023), our holiday club made a come back. with 'Mighty Makers'.
​
40+ kids had tonnes of fun over three days of games, crafts, songs and Bible stories where we explored the theme of 'making' and heard about the greatest 'maker' of all!

christmas 2021
Christmas 2021 saw the return of our outdoor community carold event at Jubilee Hall.
This year we had a gingerbread house decorating event beforehand too and enjoyed hot food and drinks together to round off the evening.
Decemer fun, 2019
In December 2019, we had plenty of Christmas events planned for all. First up was our Christmas party on Sunday 1st December followed by our annual Carols by Candlelight on the 15th December. Finally, we had an Impromptu Nativity on the 22nd of December where kids showed up, dressed up and got involved with no rehearsals needed!
EASTER TRAIL, 2021
In 2021 we took our Easter plans to the streets of Lupset where we set up an Easter trail full of clues and treats.

Children went home with lots of Easter treats as well as a craft kit for a Zoom craft competition later that day.

OUTDOOR CHRISTMAS SERVICE 2020
In 2020, we took our usual Christmas service outside due to Covid restrictions.
​
We held 3 services in one night where we enjoyed Christmas carols, a Christmas message and hot sausage rolls!
family fun day, 2019
Our 2019 annual Family Fun Day was a great time. We saw lots of familiar faces (and new ones too!) enjoying plenty of fun and games, a BBQ and face painting.

church day out, 2019
We had a church day out at Springhead Park on 13 July. We enjoyed a picnic and games under the sun and finished off the day with fish and chips.

The weather was perfect for a day out as a church family and we enjoyed the company of a few visitors too!
'epic explorers' holiday club
For three days during the Easter period we ran a holiday club in Jubilee Hall. We had a great group of kids join us for fun, games, crafts and exciting Bible stories about Jesus' life, death and resurrection.

christmas carols, 2019
At Christmas-time we held a carol service at a candle-lit Jubilee Hall.
We invited members of the community along to sing carols and enjoy home-made minced pies and sausage rolls with us.

family fun day, 2018
In summer 2018 we turned Jubilee Hall's car park into a fun packed mini fair for the first time.
​
Children enjoyed face painting, sweet stalls, a craft corner, hot dogs and plenty of games.
​
It was a great fun packed event for local families.
